gut wellness For Your Health

A minimum of a 3 month programme is recommended to see a real difference in symptoms.  For more complex or longstanding conditions/symptoms we recommend a 6 month programme.  Patients wishing to have or who require longer term treatments will be offered an extended treatment programme or package accordingly.

Discovery call

If you have further questions please email a practitioner and a free 15 minutes telephone or video call can be arranged.

3 Month Programme

Full consultation + 3 follow-up appointments

£495

Our 3 month (12 week) package includes 4 appointment – either face to face or online plus up to 15 minutes support if required in between  each appointment (email or calls if urgent), plus diet, lifestyle, tests and supplements review and recommendations, access to Gut Programme resources like advice sheets and a review of 30 minutes (usualy done by video call) within 3 month of ending the programme.

6 Month Programme

Full consultation + 5 follow-up appointments

£695

Our 6 month programme allows a more ordered and tiered treatment approach where we would be looking to address each issue in an order that can give much better long-term outcomes. For example we may treat a stomach acid issue before working on the gall bladder as this has a major influence further down the digestive tract.

The 6 month (24 week) package includes 6 appointments – either face to face or online, plus up to 1 hour in between appointment support if required, (email or calls if urgent) plus diet, lifestyle advice, tests and supplements review and recommendations, access to Gut Programme resources like advice sheets and a review of 30 minutes (usually by video call) within 3 month of ending the programme.

Introductory Offer

For a limited period, we are offering 10% off the programme cost.

Herbal Medicine Costs

The costs of herbal medicine are not included. A standard remedy would include at least one powder and one tincture:

Herbal formula as tincture (concentrated liquid): £12 – £15 per week

Herbal powders: £6 – £12 per week

Sometimes teas, creams, capsules, pessaries and other herbal preparations are provided. Please ask your practitioner for these costs.

Additional Tests

Additional laboratory tests may be useful in some cases, but for most, these are an unnecessary cost.

If you choose to have these, they are subject to additional costs, which will be discussed beforehand.

What to Expect

1st Appointment: Consultation

After completing our unique assessment questionnaire which gives an initial score for your “8 Is”, the consultation incorporates a full medical history including a review of any recent tests as well as diet, supplements, medication.  A basic examination of blood pressure, pulse, and a close look at hands, eyes and tongue is undertaken.  With the patient’s permission a further examination linked to the presenting complaint may be undertaken if necessary.

A personalised herbal formula is prescribed, made up and given to the patient, along with recommendations with regards to diet, supplements, further tests, lifestyle, links to resources.  Any tests required are discussed and arranged if necessary.

2nd Appointment: Review

There will be a 2-week review from the start of the herbal prescription; this is mainly to see how the patient is getting on with the medicine.  The prescription, modified if needed, will be given for a further 4 weeks, along with any additional recommendations.

3rd Appointment: Review Further review of all symptoms and any tests.  Accordingly, changes will be made to the herbal prescription and further recommendations given, if required.

4th Appointment (3 month programme) and 4th / 5th / 6th Appointments (6 month programme): Review and/or Post programme Recommendations

This will be an ongoing review of all symptoms, changes to herbal prescription and recommendations as necessary.  Where the 4th and 6th appointments are final appointments, patients can request repeat prescriptions or an alternative prescription (if appropriate), for a 3 month period without an in person practitioner review or, alternative arrangements can be made with the practitioner.  Patients may decide to continue onto a further 3- or 6-month programme or arrange individual consultations as required.

Each patient responds to treatment differently depending on the body’s response to the herbal medicine as well as the adaptability of the patient in making the diet and lifestyle changes. Older people and/or those on medication and or with more complex conditions may take longer to see a difference than someone who is younger, on less medication and/or is able to readily make changes to diet, lifestyle etc.  However, this is not always the case and therefore it is difficult to give a precise timescale.  Generally for symptoms or conditions which are more recent, positive results are usually seen sooner and a 3-month programme may be suitable.  Long term symptoms or conditions e.g., autoimmune or chronic conditions are likely to require the 6-month programme.  Symptoms of long-term chronic conditions are expected to improve, however these may need to be managed long term as complete resolution may not always be possible.

FAQ

Which package do I choose?

As a general rule, an acute and recent condition in an otherwise healthy patient will be quicker to resolve than a chronic ongoing condition with other present underlying health issues where the 6 month programme would be a better choice. The 6 month programme gives us more time to work on the whole gut and uses a top to bottom approach where issues in th upper gut are addressed before moving onto the lower gut. You may wish to discuss your needs with the practitioner of your choice before booking a programme.

Can I change the programme once I have already started?

Before the second consultation, patients can extend from the 3 month to the 6 month  programme.  It is not possible to change from the 6 month to the 3 month programme

Can I get a refund once I have started my package?

Unfortunately once the work has started with your practitioner, should you decide to stop, you will not receive a refund. We advise you to read The Gut Wellness Programme Terms and Conditions before signing up.

What if I am not available or I miss an appointment?

At least 48 hours notice must be given to re-arrange an appointment. If an appointment is missed or cancelled without prior notice, an extra appointment can be arranged for an additional fee, if required.

Can I change practitioner during the course of my treatment?

We endeavour to work constructively and professionally with all our patients. But if the working relationship is not working for you, then please discuss this with your practitioner. We will strive to find the best solution for you, which may include a change of practitioner.   Honesty and good communication are milestones on the path of health.

How much email support do I get in between appointments?

We dedicate up to 15 minutes per week per patient for email support and can quickly reply to any questions you have on your existing treatment. But if you have a new issue that requires more time, you may be asked to wait until your next appointment to discuss this further, or to book an additional appointment at a fee.

What are our working hours?

These may vary from practitioner to practitioner but they will be clearly stated when you sign up for the programme. As a general rule, we work from Monday to Friday, from 9am until 6pm, but there may be evening or weekend appointments also available. We do not usually reply to emails or take phone calls on Saturday and Sunday.

Are results guaranteed?

The Gut Wellness Programme practitioners are passionate and professional Herbalists and Naturopaths, who keep their skills and awareness of new research up to date.  We believe you will get the best individualised advice and support. However the success of treatment lies partly in the hands of the patient and how much effort he or she puts in to follow advice and make changes to their lifestyle, eating habits etc. We believe that everyone will benefit from the programme.

Cancellation Policy

Once you have started the programme you cannot normally cancel and obtain a refund. See terms and conditions for further details.

You must provide us with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice should you wish to change a booked appointment, so that the time can be offered to another patient. If notice is not given, any replacement appointments will need to be paid for.
